Contemplation

Contemplation
Standing at the beach alone
Beneath the waves that wash ashore
Shouldn’t I feel happy?
Time stands still, joy is no more.
Watching the sun settle in the west
Seagulls are floating in the sky.
Around me the world is burning
And close to me loved ones die.
This is the time for contemplation
The time to make a choice
Is humanity useless driftwood?
Washed ashore without a voice.
This is the time for contemplation.
Are we here to drain the earth.
Or should we all start asking questions.
Is this truly all that life is worth?
The city’s rushing, raging, roaring.
Now streets are empty, without light.
Once full of life and selfish pushing
All that’s left is grief and fright.
Endless shoving, yelling, fighting
The only wish is to succeed.
And now the longing for compassion
Is all we really need.
This is the time for contemplation
The time to make a choice
Is humanity useless driftwood?
Washed ashore without a voice.
This is the time for contemplation.
Are we here to drain the earth.
Or should we all start asking questions.
Is this truly all that life is worth?
Politicians tell us stories,
Hiding the truth behind their backs.
We feel betrayed, lost, filled with fury.
It ‘s the courage here that lacks.
Instead of looking in the mirror
Finding righteousness right there.
We keep asking the wrong questions.
It is very hard to bear.
It’s the time for contemplation
The time to hear our voice.
Is humanity useless driftwood?
Washed ashore without a choice?
It’s the time for contemplation.
Are we here to drain the earth.
Or should we all start asking questions.
Is this truly all that life is worth?
Is this truly all that life is worth?
Was this truly all that life was worth?

That's Who You Would Be

That's You You Would Be
In my mind, I see you all the time.
You’d look just like your daddy,
And when I’d see your face my heart would jump,
Coz I knew you’d always be there.
In my mind you would be just like him.
The same dark eyes and tender lips.
And when you’d put your little hand in mine,
You would also have his touch.
You’d grow up on the land I love,
Where a father knows what has to be done,
A free spirit is what you’d become.
For you‘d be your daddy’s son.
Chorus:
That’s who you’d be,
If he were still the man who’s true to me.
That’s who you’d be,
If he still tried to bring the stars to me.
That’s who you’d be,
If he were still the man in love, in love with me.
That’s who you’d be!
And every time that I would look at you.
I’d see the child I love in every way.
And then I’d fall down on my knees and pray.
And thank heaven for you every day.
Dadadaaaa…..
Chorus:
That’s who you’d be,
If he were still the man who’s true to me.
That’s who you’d be,
If he still tried to bring the stars to me.
That’s who you’d be,
If he were still the man in love, in love with me.
That’s who you’d be!

Love Me One More Time

Love Me One More Time
There was a song on my mind as we said good-bye.
A breeze blowing south, the sun in your eyes.
Your heart seemed so unbroken, so distantly obliged.
One tender kiss, two distant strangers, another moment in time, then it was gone.
Summers come and summers go, seasons change and time moves on.
Love grows strong and love moves on.
Eyes behold, eyes behold!
Love me one more time and let me feel you now.
Watching your eyes, one more time, as they invade my soul.
Touch my hand and hold me tight.
Till the moon smiles wide… and the stars fall down on you and me, just one more time.
I’ve longed and cried as the years go by.
I wonder as the winds caress my cheek.
Souls grow apart, oceans in between, feelings left to die.
I can’t change your mind, can’t make you see, how wonderful it would be,
you and me.
The sun grows pale, autumn’s near, I drive along that road with fear.
Going back to where childhood lies
And friendship’s worn from constant change.
Love me one more time and let me feel you now.
Watching your eyes, one more time, as they invade my soul.
Touch my hand and hold me tight.
Till the moon smiles wide… and the stars fall down on you and me, just one more...
What happens now? Don’t be afraid. Sharing feelings is never too late!
And despite our worlds and everyone in it
Can’t stop me from loving, only you. Ahhhh…
Love me one more time and let me feel you now.
Watching your eyes, one more time, as they invade my soul.
Touch my hand and hold me tight.
Till the moon smiles wide… and the stars fall down on you and me, just one more time.
And the stars fall down on you and me, just one more time.

The Road Home

The Road Home
Driving the old truck on the dusty road,
Laughing, dreaming, counting stars.
They were two young girls dreamin’ of the future,
One was blond and the other one dark.
They were driving along telling stories,
Watching deer run and eagles fly,
Crackin’ up about pretty much nothing,
With no one wondering “why”?
Life was fine, so much fun,
All the troubles unknown,
They weren’t alone,
Driving along,
On the road home…
They grew older though in different worlds,
But their dreams they stayed the same.
“We will always stay close and live together,
In the City of Fame.”
Summers came and went away again,
And one came that was your last,
You went away to Heaven,
Leaving our mem’ries in the past…
The world changed, was empty now,
For all those who were left behind,
It’s not fair for you to be gone so early!
You were gentle and kind!
It was strange, but so true,
I felt so close to you,
And when I feel alone,
You’re always there,
With me on that road home…
And when I look out at the sunset
See a child’s dark eyes smile at me,
Then I see your face, remember those days,
And I’ll crave the need … to take the road home….
